    The Installation Kit is not required, but here is why you would spend the extra money:

    • Mounting plates replaces the need to use 2x6's to crib your studs attached to your ceiling. 
    • It looks really good. Powder coated mounting plates are low profile, which offers a sleek finished look. 
    • Simplifies installation. With the pre drilled holes and ready fasteners, the installation can't be easier. 

    NOTE If the studs in the ceiling in your garage run front to back (back wall to the garage door in the front) this kit will span between your studs. If your studs run side to side your power unit and pulley can be attached direct to your ceiling, and you do not need this kit.
